General Manager - Sarasota

Southern Broadcast Corporation of Sarasota is looking for a hands-on experienced General Manager with a proven track record of success to lead its television and digital media operations at WTXL ABC 27. The General Manager is responsible for the total operation of WTXL including, but not limited to:

- Manage sales
- Grow revenue and revenue share: television, digital media and new business
- Develop strong relationships with clients
- Manage and grow digital media and interactive Websites
- Manage and grow news and ratings, and serve the community
- Innovative focus
- Develop non-traditional revenue sources
- Develop sales, marketing and news promotions
- Manage the company's physical, financial, and human assets
- Manage and achieve budgeted financial goals
- Manage, motivate, and train all station personnel
- Protect the station's license by strictly adhering to FCC rules and regulations
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with affiliation, syndicators and community
- Community affairs
- Station to be active in the community
- Represent the station by actively participating in local community organizations and events

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or related field. MBA a plus
- Minimum of 5 years experience in similar television station or senior television management role
- Hands-on television advertising sales and operational background a must
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred

Valid driver`s license, good driving record, and pre-employment background checks required.
