Local Sales Account Executive – Manhattan

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compelling, agile and driven salesperson in New York with a minimum of 3 years in local direct advertising sales. “In-the-know” of the Manhattan market is one of the key traits to being a successful player on our team. Significant local business relationships are critical to ramp up the market and meet aggressive growth plans. Responsibilities
• Contribute with strong personal effort and commitment to sales group initiatives.
•Main responsibility is to independently drive online sales, meet and exceed all sales goals.
•Maintain and grow exceptional client relationships as a trusted advisor to their business.
•Excellent prospecting and cold calling skills necessary. An assertive attitude to getting to the decision maker is essential.
•The physical and mental stamina to secure 2-3 business appointments per day.
•Assist in identifying and executing-revenue enhancing strategic partnerships.
•Provide accurate client and revenue information as requested by sales management.
•Manage, renew and up-sell existing clients.
•Communicate with potential clients with various methods including, phone, email and face to face meetings.
•Include sales management on client calls as requested by managers.
•Prepare materials and respond to clients with a high degree of quality and in a timely manner.
•Prepare Insertion Orders and negotiate contracts with company’s interests in mind.
•Participate in company sales events such as trade shows.
•Work as a team with Account Management to ensure client’s needs are met to the best of our ability.
•Main company representative for reaching out to clients/prospects within the assigned territory to ensure that they are aware of our offerings.
•Update customer database; prepare call logs, call planners, client needs analysis and rolling revenue reports as requested.
•Stay current of online advertising trends and any major initiatives.
•Assist in recruiting as needed.
•Will act as a mentor to newer Account Executives as needed.
•Some travel required only in extreme cases.
•Other projects as assigned.
Requirements
•Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
•3+ years in-market, local SMB sales experience in related field, preferably online/broadcast sales
•Proven ability to work autonomously
•Proven ability to self motivate and self direct activities
•Proven ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships with corporate staff from a remote office
