Digital Sales Manager - Massachusetts
 The New England Sports Network (NESN), owned by the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins and delivered to over 4 million homes throughout the six-state New England region and nationally via DirecTV and Dish Network, is searching for a Digital Sales Manager.
Reporting to the General Sales Manager (GSM), this position requires a savvy, aggressive, creative digital sales professional adept at developing new business and growing existing accounts utilizing NESN’s and NESN.com’s unique brand position. This position develops advertising and marketing packages utilizing NESN.com assets in both stand alone and broadcast opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Work with the GSM and the New Media department to develop and enhance a new media sales strategy and successfully execute the strategy
•Develop new business through all stages of the sales cycle, from prospecting through the close, and follow-up to ensure repeated sales activity
•Research, identify and develop new prospects for both new media and traditional TV ad sales
•Identify and develop relationships with corporate decision makers
•Develop and submit/present creative and effective proposals and advertising packages to customers for NESN.com and NESN broadcast sales
•Collaborate with NESN broadcast account executives to strategically identify prospects and include digital inventory in RSN packages
•Work as part of a sales team with a focus on sharing ideas and industry information, and actively participation in team meetings; mentor and coach ad sales team on digital sales strategy and execution
•Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on each account and recommend the appropriate schedule and budget to advertisers
•Review and work collection accounts before they move into 90 days
•Create and use promotions/marketing opportunities to generate new and incremental revenue
•Uncover and maximize co-op revenues
•Work cohesively with new media, broadcast sales, traffic and production to maximize revenues; follow processes which are conducive to a smooth workflow
•Keep accurate sales figures in NESN’s database (Wide Orbit) and log activities on prospect accounts and any other sales effort tracking required
•Service non-commissionable accounts including non-profit, trade accounts, charities and promotional accounts as needed
•Develop and maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of the local and regional competition, new media traffic and rating information from various sources
•Serve as a public relations representative, image builder in the local community
•Stay abreast of industry trends through various sources and apply knowledge of new and changing trends to ensure success
•Provide requested reports in a timely manner
•Successfully complete other related tasks and/or projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
•5+ years experience in media sales including experience selling cross-platform media solutions to Boston and national clients
•2+ years of advertising sales experience including new media sales and cable advertising or television sales
•3+ years of internet sales experience
•Advanced knowledge of internet sales including a solid understanding of effective metrics used to reflect potential and actual ROI of internet ads
•Strong knowledge of media market
•Excellent computer skills particularly with excel, word, Powerpoint and sales tracking/CRM applications
•Self-motivated, organized, ability to work in both independent and team scenarios
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, loosely structured environment
•Strong communication skills
•Positive can do attitude
•Valid driver’s license and dependable automobile
